STUDENT TESTIMONIALS

War is a cold word... It not only forced us to leave everything we had and valued in our lives and start from zero, but also set new conditions and requirements. New country, new language, new rules. My lessons with L. (my teacher from New Zealand) are hours of smiles, interesting discussions and tactful support. Before the start of each lesson, I mentally imagine how L wakes up early and turns on the zoom to start the lesson. Despite her work, taking care of her family, this person supports and teaches me thousands of kilometers away. This is a live communication where I feel very comfortable and calm. After all, my mistakes will be pointed out to me, the teacher will always choose interesting examples and cases. Special thanks to the organizers of the project! You are doing a really great job! Strength, inspiration and peace

✨✨✨

Communication skills are very important in life, and without knowing the language it is very difficult.  And classes with my teacher E. are sometimes the only thing I can rely on, especially when everything gets out of my hands and nothing works anywhere.

I am very glad that I found your group "Teachers for Ukraine" and that I was lucky to study with E.B.. I was forced to leave Ukraine during the hostilities and now I am in England. Despite the fact that I have an average level of English, this is a very big stress for me. To all the existing problems, the problem of communication was added. It turned out to be very difficult for me to communicate with local people, as they have very different and strong accents, it is very difficult to communicate on the phone. I was very disappointed in myself. I was very lucky to have E. as my teacher. Despite the very big time difference of 11 hours, he tries to find a time that works for me too. He also took into account my needs and desires in learning English as much as possible. At each of our classes, he is very supportive, explains everything that I do not understand and inspires confidence in me. I look forward to our class every week. And with every session I feel more confident.

Good day! I want to leave a review about my experience learning English with a charming woman - E.! When I wrote to her by mail about our first meeting and the beginning of classes, I was very nervous, because my level of English is weak, and she is American. I was worried, how will I understand her? How can you teach a person something if the teacher does not speak your language? But E. calmed me down, and at our first zoom meeting, I understood - everything will work out for us! I am currently in the UK and my teacher and I have a 5 hour time difference!!! But this did not prevent us from working fruitfully. She not only taught me English, but also told me the nuances of the difference between American and British English, so that I would not make mistakes in communicating with the British! This is a great program! I am very grateful for the organization of such a movement, for the opportunity to meet such helpful people, for the support that is so important to Ukrainians now! These lessons helped me a lot to overcome the barrier of live communication with native speakers! I am infinitely grateful to E. (she is a super woman for me) and all the volunteers of "Teachers for Ukraine"!!!

Firstly, I would like to thank you for what you have done for all of us, Ukrainians, both who are currently staying in the country and who have left it. The project “Teachers for Ukraine” is not only about teaching and learning, but also about true kindness and friendship as well as great support in these challenging times.

The sessions with my teacher M. are like a breath of fresh air to me, I always look forward to the next meeting with her. During our sessions we have lots of discussions about various topics, share some useful teaching/learning materials with one another, laugh and talk about our families and life. I am grateful to M. for her time, her positive vibes as well as for all of the precious advice on improving my English language skills. She is such a wonderful teacher and a truly inspiring person! Due to the war in my country, I had been left with little income and M. was happy to help me polish my CV and cover letter. So I am applying for the international job now.

Thank you once again for this great project!

Greetings from Ukraine!

I want to express my gratitude to everyone who helps Ukraine and the Ukrainians in such a difficult time for us. Special thanks to the organizers of the "Teacher for Ukraine" program for lending a helping hand and helping many people adjust to a new country and learn a new language for them. I am very glad that thanks to this program, I met a wonderful, friendly, pleasant and intelligent teacher from Canada, L. K.. She understands me like no one else, what it's like to be in a foreign country with different traditions and a different language. L. too, many years ago, moved to live in a foreign, at that time, Canada. She helps me not only to learn the language, but also to adapt in a new country. I am sure, we became not just a teacher and a student, but also good friends.

During the lessons, we talk about my life in England, exchange recipes for various dishes, and share interesting information about our countries. I was very lucky with the teacher, thank you L. and everyone who spends their time helping Ukrainians.

Due to the war, I was forced to move abroad, where you are nothing without English. Then I had an urgent need to learn English quickly, because in order to work online or continue my education, you need to know English at a level no less than B2. Therefore, I found a very cool program specifically for Ukrainians who need English. I am very grateful to Teachers for Ukraine for their help. I am lucky, because I study with two teachers from America. I would like to note that thanks to their help, I felt an improvement in my spoken English, I began to better understand English by ear, because this is a real issue when you communicate with native speakers This is a very good opportunity to raise your level and be ready to go abroad and work in this difficult time in Ukraine.

I've been studying English with D. for 3 months now. And I feel indescribably happy that I had this opportunity. D. is an amazing teacher. Despite the time difference, we meet every week. Having a private lesson with an experienced English teacher is amazing and very rewarding. Because we can discuss the topics that I will use in my life. And it helped me a lot not only to pass job interviews, but also to feel so confident in my knowledge that I will start working at a school from September.

Thank you, D.! Thank you, Teachers for Ukraine!

I want to express my deep gratitude to all the organizers of the Teacher for Ukraine program!

I was very lucky to meet the wonderful teacher P. from New Zealand in your program. She is a creative, experienced professional and, quite simply, a very interesting person. My teacher has a rare and very necessary for me specialization in business English. She finds out the student's field of activity and quickly selects the learning strategy and the necessary vocabulary. The results of working with her admire and inspire me to new achievements in my business career in a new country for me, to which I was forced to move from Ukraine because of the war.

Thanks again P. and all the best to your program!

This is a great project and I am lucky to be a part of it as a student. L. is an amazing teacher - not only teaching me but giving a lot of support. She knows what I need and gives me wise advice: to expand my network, make new connections, be confident and not so hard on myself.

I am happy to have her in that darkest hour of my life, when I am alone with two minors in a foreign country, while my home, my country is in the terror of Russia’s war.

My teacher is T. and I am very lucky.  T. from Canada (lives in Japan) is very attentive to me and my questions.  Together we study the basics of my profession in English, study the history of England, the traditions of the whole world.  T. helps me find materials that make it easier to learn a foreign language.  I am very pleased!  Thank you so much for this opportunity to learn!

Hi, I deeply appreciate you and all your team for this opportunity of free studying. I was lucky to get in touch with J. and enjoy every lesson. In our class I receive not only useful information and home tasks but a lot of fun and positive vibes. Learning process is well organized and flexible. So I can easily combine it with my job. Thank you!

Because of the war in Ukraine, my son and I were forced to leave our native country. Fate threw us in Great Britain. There are incredibly kind people who help and take care of us. But, unfortunately, the speech barrier very often gets in the way of basic things.

My son studied English in a regular school in Ukraine, and was always an excellent student. But learning English at school and speaking English every day in an English-speaking environment are two different things.

We are incredibly grateful to the teachers from the "Teachers for Ukraine" program who came to help! Teachers spend their time conducting classes and preparing for lessons. And all this on a volunteer basis! I thank you every day for the work you do for Ukrainians!

My son is doing much better with his English today! And this, without exaggeration, is the merit of your teachers! We thank you!

✨✨✨

I would like to tell you about my study experience with R. My name is A. I appreciate studying English through the "Teachers for Ukraine" program. First of all, my teacher, R., asked me about my goals and expectations. I realized that my main goals are to make my English more fluent and to improve my pronunciation. R. found an excellent approach to help me to improve my English: she offered to analyze the short texts with deep thoughts and reflections (this approach helps me to improve my skills in composing complex sentences and also to develop my mind). To improve my pronunciation skills I read a part of a text and R. makes comments on the quality and possible mistakes. We also agreed to analyze short movies in our next lessons to improve my listening skills. I am glad to study with R. and always waiting for our lessons.

💙💙💙

I want to thank you for your initiative. I look forward to meeting my teacher every day.

We discuss various topics that are relevant to me. These classes help me improve my speaking skills, learn new words and phrases typical for native speakers.

I would like to express my gratitude to Teachers For Ukraine for supporting Ukrainians in such a difficult time.

Today I would like to dedicate this review to a person who puts a lot of effort and energy into the Flexibility of My English .  And since I am a Yoga Teacher , the Flexibility of anything ..., and even language, is of great importance to me

This is My Personal Trainer , English Coach and Guide in all Directions and In All My Courses!

The person who appeared in my life is not accidental...

Arriving here, at first we waited a long time for the organization of local Courses ... and, since our language level left much to be desired , we really wanted to finally start this Process of Stretching our speech ...

I'll tell you honestly , I often remembered my students in my Yoga room, when the body does not give in and does not obey ... The same thing happened to me ...  And then a Ray of Light appeared at the end of the tunnel …

A little woman has appeared who can create the Shavassana Atmosphere in my head, reach out to the "Turn Off Toggle Switch" and Turn it On ...

And I start Chatting ..., chatting about everything that worries me, what I want, what happened yesterday, today and what I plan ....   When the button is turned on , V. skillfully takes all this Chaos of mine under her control and begins to “comb” , “clean”, add colors and direct in the right direction ...  V. does not speak our Native languages… But We speak Our Common Language - the language of the Heart, Understanding and Empathy!  Purity of speech is Very Important for me personally….

In my native language, I also attach great importance to pure and beautiful speech!  But now , what I'm saying is Just Chaos… and V., having a High Level of Perfectionism in English, helps me a lot to clean up my Vocabulary closet that I dumped when I came here … V., today I want to talk about her.  About a little woman who became a true friend for me.

Classes with V. make learning important topics easy and simple!

 V. is not just a Teacher for Me!  She is often my Psychologist when I need support before an Important and Exciting Event!

We can talk about everything with her ... - about our children, about husbands , about women's experiences, about the sprained ligaments of your left elbow , about my bad tooth and the UK medical system ...  V. has an amazing Ability that every Foreign Language Teacher should have, but, unfortunately, not everyone has, is  Talk!  Lead to a Deep Valuable Personal Conversation!

Thank you for having me!   Thanks to V. and your Great Service "Teachers for Ukraine"!
